【摘要】试。洋务运动涉及军事、经济、文化诸方面，取得了巨大成效，一度引起了广泛的国际关注。它虽然没能挽救中国，但它不仅顺应了世界近代化运动的历史潮流,成为世界近代化运动的一个组成部分；而且为中国的进步、中国的近代化开辟了道路，是中国近代化链条上的第一环。从近代化的角度解析洋务运动能够让学生比较全面地理解近代化的涵义和了解我国近代化艰难的历程。

【外文摘要】Modernization as the greatest and most profound social transformation is a gradual process with long-term, complex and multi-level characteristics in world history. As to Chinese, the understanding and pursuit of modernization have undergone arduous explorations. Among these explorations the Westernization Movement between 1860s and 1890s by the Qing Dynasty is a profound and comprehensive social reform movement, as well as an initial attempt since the Opium War to pursue a path of modernization that conforms to China's specific national conditions. The Westernization Movement which involved military, economy, culture, etc. had attained great achievement and aroused worldwide attention. Despite its failure of national salvation, the Movement as part of the world modernization process conformed to the historical trend of the times; also the Movement as the first chain of Chinese Modernization process paved the road for China’s progress. From the perspective of the modernization of the Westernization Movement analysis can allow students a more comprehensive understanding of the meaning of modernization and the modernization of our country's difficult journey.
