【摘要】织建设等六个层面加以论述。第三篇试图对洋务派如何发展各经济部门的思想进行探讨，拟从农业、工业、商业、交通通讯业、金融业以及过剩劳动力转移等六个层面加以阐述。第四篇试图对洋务现代化思想作一评价、总结，拟从洋务派现代化思想的渊源、为何要被维新思潮所代替，以及清政府与洋务现代化的关系等三个层面进行探讨。本文的结论是：洋务运动实质上是一场把中国从传统社会引向现代社会的改革运动，洋务现代化思想反映的洋务派对如何进行这场转变的思考，其中，如何进行企业制度建设，和如何发展国民经济各部门，是他们考虑的重点问题。

【外文摘要】The dissertation represents the author's attempt to apply the modern economic approach to analyzing the Westernization Movement, which is different angles: 1. Grasping the essence and the main ideas of the Westernization Movement on the whole. The dissertation analyzes the origin and development of the Westernization Movement its guiding principles, the modern development strategy and the proposals in the political ethics reform. 2. Probing into the ways how the Westernization Movement builds the firm the Microsocmic basis of the new mode of production. The main contents are as follows: how to collect funds, how to improve technology, how to train managers, how to employ workers, how to manage the firm scientifically and how to clear the property right of the firm. 3. Explaining the construction plans for various economic sectors in the national economy. The dissertation discusses the modern agriculture, modern industry. Modern commerce, modern communication and modern finance, as well as transfer of the oversupply of labors. 4. Evaluating the thinking of the Westernization Movement. The academic origin of the Westernization Movement and the reform thinking are especially concerned. Besides, the relation between Qing dynasty government and the Westernization Movement is discussed, too. The conclusion of dissertation is as follows: Westernization Movement is a reform movement in essence, which transfers china from a traditional society to a modern society. The thinking of the Westernization Movement reflects the exploration of the Westernization Movement figures. The main ideas include how to establish the microcosmic basis-firm, and how to improve the relationship among the various economic sectors. Among those, the construction of the firm institution is an important thinking.
