【摘要】的推动作用。十九世纪中叶，西方近代自然科学开始逐步传入中国，而近代自然科学比较全面、系统地输入中国，则是在洋务运动时期。西方近代自然科学所包括的数学、物理、化学、天文、地理、生物、医药等各门学科，从基础知识到学术理论再到应用技术，是在洋务运动时期，通过教会学校、洋务学堂、书刊译著等种种方式，比较系统地介绍到了中国。这个时期，一批西方传教士和一些中国知识分子，如傅兰雅、李善兰、徐寿、华蘅芳等，在传播西方近代科学知识方面做出了重大贡献。近代自然科学的输入及传播，对中国社会产生了相当大的作用。人们普遍认为，正是从洋务运动开始，中国才开始了近代化的历程。近代化所涵盖的范围又极其广泛，囊括了社会的各个领域，包括经济、政治、思想文化等等社会的各个方面，其中科学技术的发展，起了至关重要的作用。...
